A PivotTable is an interactive way to quickly summarize large amounts of data. You can use a Pivot Table to analyze numerical data in detail and answer unanticipated questions about your data. A PivotTable is especially designed for: Querying large amounts of data in many user-friendly ways. After you create a pivot table, you can add and move data, add a filter, drill down to see details about a calculation, group data, and more. (We will discuss more about this as we move through the lesson) We can use pivot tables to; • Summarize thousands of rows of data, such as sales each year segmented by region. •Drill down to analyze a region. Use a pivot table to see the total of each region’s sales. Then, get a breakdown of individuals and their sales for that region. • Note: Pivot tables refresh any time you change the source data.
